Do something to save our planet!

short film made by Friends of the Earth in Belgium, with the help of award winning film director Nic Balthazar is helping spread the message that politicians must ‘Act Now’ against climate change.

The launch coincides with a major success for the Big Ask campaign in Europe. The UK now has a climate change law making it the first country of the world to commit to legally binding cuts in its greenhouse gas emissions.

More than 6,000 people took part in the recording of the Big Ask-video clip at Ostende on the Belgian coast. It was the largest event against climate change ever in Belgium. The film clip was made possible due to the engagement of volunteers from Friends of the Earth, and many film industry professionals including Nic Balthazar, who gave their time for free. Music has been supplied by Hooverphonic

After you’ve watched the clip, do something, ACT NOW!
Send the clip to politicians in your own country, and friends, family, and colleagues. Now is the time to send it round the world, and to share it with everyone you know!

Friends of the Earth groups are running The Big Ask climate campaign in 17 European countries, so if you are in one of these countries, you can sign an online petition after you have watched the film.

The time for talking is over, it’s time for action!

Salty Ston

Ston is a beautifull little town in the southwestern part of Croatia which is famous for superb seafood. Ston is connected with Maliston via the second longest wall of Europe. The wall is still nearly intact (thanks to some renovations), so you are free to visit and walk all the way up to Maliston!

As from the wall and the guard tower, you have a beautifull view on the Salt evaporation ponds where untill now -though in very small amounts- sea salt is produced.

My first blog post!

As I am addicted to my laptop and to the ‘WorldWideWeb‘ , it had to happen one day;
me‘ starting to blog!
And I guess, this is ‘the’ day!

I do not really know where this is going to end (it might be very soon…),
but I guess the only way to find out is to start with it!
One thing I really do know, is that this blog will deal with my biggest passion;
Photography

In the first place, I want to do this for myself.
to put my ‘photographic view’ on life together..
to stimulate myself to go through former -yet unprocessed- pictures,
and at last, but not at least to challenge myself to make (& post) good(???) pictures on a regular base!

At the other side, making my shots public might result in other advantages;
I am very hungry to  improve my photographic skills on any level…
so, any critical comment or hint is more then welcome… Just shoot!

Hope I (and you) will enjoy the following!
